Abstract

Intensive rivals between the United States and China in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) have important consequences for the AI strategy and development. India is based on complex geopolitical landscapes, as the two superpower is competing for control in artificial intelligence technology. The US-China AI competition is driven by the desire to achieve technological supremacy, which has far-reaching consequences for global innovation, economic growth, and national security. India, this rivalry presents both challenges and opportunities. On the one hand, it requires a strategic approach to safeguard national interests and ensure technological sovereignty, while on the other hand it also presents an opportunity to leverage the advances of both countries to strengthen our own AI ecosystems. This paper explores how the US-China AI competition influences India's policy decisions, research priorities, and investment strategies in AI. The study examines the potential for collaboration and competition in the AI domain, highlighting the opportunities and risks for India's technological advancement. By analyzing the strategies of the US and China, this paper aims to provide insights into how India can develop a robust AI ecosystem that ensures both growth and security.
