Abstract

Blue pottery, renowned for its vibrant hues and intricate designs, epitomizes the rich cultural heritage and exceptional craftsmanship of Multan, Pakistan. This study delves into the multifaceted challenges faced by blue pottery artisans in Multan, aiming to unravel the complex issues that threaten this traditional art form. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines qualitative insights from in-depth interviews with artisans and wholesalers with quantitative analysis of customer feedback to paint a comprehensive picture of the current state of blue pottery. The researcher begins by exploring the historical and cultural significance of blue pottery in Multan, setting the stage for an investigation into the contemporary challenges confronting this time-honored craft. The study reveals that craftsmen are grappling with economic hardships, challenges in pricing, and obstacles in marketing and promoting their products. Interviews shed light on the intricate issues surrounding production and sales, while customer surveys provide valuable perspectives on preferences and concerns.
